Tyrannic War Veteran - latest work

Sorry for the lack of posts, but I have been really busy working.  Anyway, here is my latest painted miniature, a Tyrannic War veteran.  I really like this Citadel Finecast miniature.

First two squads

Also here are my first two completed squads.

My first squad of Ultramarine Scouts
My first Ultramarine Tactical Squad

Ultramarine, 3rd Company Dreadnought

You may have seen my Ultramarine Dreadnought in the photos from the first battle report, but I kind of snuck it out for the battle so that my opponent wouldn't know I had one.  Well with the cat now out of the bag, I can show it off to you.

1st battle

Yesterday I took a 400 point force from the 3rd Company out to battle a Tyranid force, using a scenario from the 5th Edition 40K Rules, also still using the same rules.

My force was tasked to protect the evacuation of an Imperial agent from the surface of the planet, before complete infestation by Guido's Tyranid horde.

I must say it was great to see my small Ultramarine force that consisted of one squad of Tactical Marines, a Scout Squad and a Dreadnought, finally on the gaming table!

In the end, we succeeded in our designated task, suffering only six casualties, whilst forcing a Genestealer brood and their Broodlord to flee the tabletop after suffering horrendous casualties, and also nearly wiping out a Hormagaunt Brood.

Here are some pics that I captured on my phone, so excuse the quality.

The view from the highest firing position at the approaching Genestealers.
Sergeant Sulla's combat squat swings out on the right flank accompanied by Dreadnought Appian
Part of the thin blue line that smashed the Genestealer advance.
...but in the other flank, the enemy was advancing in force, against one combat squad who were delivering ineffective volleys
The squad was eventually overwhelmed by the Hormagaunt, but they could not get past the reforming firing line of Ultramarines.
Much fun was had by all and I learnt a lot about my troops (love the assault cannon and the heavy flamer)!
